Sitting Posture -
Lotus Posture
A cross-legged sitting posture, placing each foot on the opposite thigh. When the left foot is on top, it is the "demon subduing position." When the right foot is on top, it is the "auspicious position." This is an ideal position for sitting meditation because the body is centered and one can sit steadily over a long period of time. It is conducive to achieving a state of deep meditation.
